Halloween Countdown: Plants vs Zombies

We had such a great weekend of food, fun, and family. Sure, we got in a few Halloween activities—like melted wax pumpkins, another batch of monster cookies, and a family re-watch of Frankenstein—but this week things kick into high gear with indoor and outdoor decorating.

When Mom was at WalMart this weekend she found some cute skeleton planters—but they already had plants in them. And we have a lot of plants.

So instead, she went to the craft store and picked up six mini claypots and some acrylic paint.

Tonight, my sister and I are going to make these:

After school we're even going to pick out a succulent of some kind—maybe a cactus because Mom says they can survive without much water and well, I'm not great at remembering to take care of plants (except to help Grandpa with his canola field), but Amelia will probably get something less...prickly.

Pretty cool, right? I'm going to suggest this activity to my teacher too—might be a fun way to spend a Friday art class. Mom says you can even use them as place settings if you're having a Halloween feast...which we are.

Gotta jet! I'm scrolling the internet for some fun zombie pot paint ideas. My grandparents always say they don't know where I get my imagination from...I'm pretty sure they're just joking, though, because Mom comes up with some pretty great ideas!

See you tomorrow!
