Can you believe it? It's Halloween! Wahoo!
And guess what? I didn't choose my Superman costume—are you shocked? I was all ready to tie up that familiar cape, and hang out with my super hero friends tonight (even my sister Amelia is getting into the spirit with her new Wonder Woman costume)—but I changed my mind at the last second.
Maybe it has something to do with the weather—it's snowing in my back yard—or the fact that tomorrow kicks of National Novel Writing Month and I'm trying to write a spooky story this year. Whatever the reason, I opted for my scarier, and somewhat warmer, costume.
Ready? Here I am:

In case you haven't guessed, I'm one of the characters from the Superman Duffy graphic novel Beneath The SOIL. The spider, obviously, which is kind of ironic since I have a bit of arachnophobia. What better way to conquer your fears, though, than to face them head on!
Come to think of it, that's kind of the theme of my NaNoWriMo project—which I'll talk more about throughout next month. Thanks for hanging out with me as I counted down the days to MY favourite holiday, Halloween. I hope you stick around in November too, as I dish out some storytelling tips that will be useful, even if you're not writing 5,000 (or 50,000) words in 30 days.
