Crafting my way to Halloween

I know what you’re thinking. It’s JUST October 1, and I’m already talking about Halloween. I can’t help it—it’s my FAVOURITE time of the year. I love everything about it—carving pumpkins, eating the seeds, dressing up in costume (I have a GREAT idea this year), and hanging out with my friends trick-or-treating.

Oh, and scoring all of that sweet candy.

I’ve already started seeing pumpkins everywhere, even on MY doorstep. Mom never puts them out THIS early. Know what that tells me? This is going to be a SPOOKTACULAR Halloween.

This year, I’ve decided to make a lot of Halloween crafts, starting this weekend at Culture Days in St. Albert. The author of the Superman Duffy comics will be there doing a session on using modelling clay today, but there will be OTHER sessions too—most of them to do with crafts and art. Hopefully they ALSO have Halloween on their mind.

Wow! I’m so excited. In fact, I’m going to start looking for ideas RIGHT NOW on Pinterest. Not quite ready for Halloween? No problem. Alberta Canola Producers have a new “crafts” brochure with some great activities to get you through fall. If you can’t wait, Email simone@albertacanola.com and request a copy, before it goes up on  www.learncanola.com.

Will I see you in St. Albert this weekend? I’ll be the one sculpting a giant ball of orange clay into the best Jack-O-Lantern ever! See you there.

Gotta jet!
