I'm super excited to be testing my blogging stamina by taking part in the A-Z Blogging Challenge. Started by the awesome Arlee Bird, the challenge is to write a post every day of the month (except Sundays) based on the appropriate letter for the day. Sound confusing? Stick with me throughout April and you'll get it. My theme is: Things that inspire me.
* * *
Not THAT kind of lightening...though some of it can be pretty cool.
I mean, as in Gordon “Lightening” Smith, my biggest competition in track and field.
Lightening
and I have been racing against each other for a few years, each vying for the
top spot on our school’s track and field team. He’s pretty fast, and sometimes
he finishes before me. Coach Taylor says a little
friendly competition is good for us, because it makes us work harder.
I guess
he’s right. Sometimes, when I’m striving for my personal best, I pretend
Lightening is right behind me, so close I can feel his breath on the back of my
neck. It makes me run harder and faster. Of course, in those instances I always
win.
If only
I could win every race against him.
What do you think about when you’re striving
for your personal best?
Gotta
jet!
