What’s
so inspiring about EXERCISE, you ask?
Well,
let me tell you. When I exercise, I get more energy (ha! Another “E” word!),
which means I can stay up longer doing the things I love. Like reading,
watching TV, or, yes Mom, studying. *rolling eyes * (Okay, I don’t love studying, but I know I study harder
after a good workout…something about the endorphins going to my brain or…)
Exercise
keeps my heart fit, and my muscles strong. When I first started track and field,
I could barely run around the block without gasping for breath. Now, with all
of my training and other exercise mixed in, I have the energy to run around the
block ten times!
And, I
can run across my Grandpa’s canola field in 8 seconds flat. That’s two seconds
off my personal best.
Of
course, running is my favourite type
of exercise, but I also like swimming, climbing, riding my bike, snowshoeing,
and skating – even though I’m not great at skating. Dad always wanted me to be
a hockey player when I was younger. Definitely NOT the sport for me. He got over it.
